start8 start menu does not include "sleep"

hello:

i am very happy with start8, but I have one issue i hope can be resolved. i have installed start8 on a surface pro 3 (8.1 patched fully to current) and for some reason I do not have "sleep" as an option in the choices on the start menu. I do have the "power button" config'd to set sleep, but I wonder if I may not be able to set this in the pulldown with other options.

as options i have shutdown (default), switch user, sign out, lock, restart and hibernate but sleep is not included.

help/thoughts?

Yep, same here, with Surface Pro 3. But I also have a Lenovo Helix and on the Helix's Start8 menu, the "Sleep" selection is present just above "Hibernate" on Start8's expanded power button. Both devices are running 8.1 Pro fully updated and both with Start8 and ModernMix at their latest versions as of today.

I've also noticed in the Surface Pro 3's power settings "Choose what the power button does" and "Choose what closing the lid does" are the same exact settings - meaning it is not allowed to set the power button to shutdown and set close the lid to sleep for example. And the "Do Nothing" selection is just not present anywhere. In my experience with 20 some laptop/tablet devices, this is contrary all of those on which I've had the opportunity to view the power settings in both 8.1 and Windows 7 for that matter. Did I hear someone say, "Wait for Threshold"? I've tried all combinations in all the places in 8.1 where power settings can be changed and never does Start8 on the Surface Pro 3 show the "Sleep" selection in Start8 version 1.41 or 1.45. Start8 and ModernMix work flawlessly on 3 of the 4 devices in my home both computer and tablets.

In as much as I've gotten really attached to the pleasure of using the Surface Pro 3, it seems it's power option settings are of a new catagory, which may be confusing Start8 as they confused me.

I have checked on a Surface 2 Pro and sleep is being offered as an option on that.  The company CEO has a Surface 3 Pro so I will get on that later to see if that's showing for them as there is no reason that I can think of to explain why sleep is not an option.  Unless the OS is not exposing sleep as an option and is really just doing Hibernate when you pick Sleep in other locations.

I have the same issue.

i have a dell xps 12 running windows 8 pro updated. Mines says hibernate but no sleep button.

The reason i am thinking about getting start 8 is because the old start button had everything really close. it kind of defeats the purpose of having the sleep button somewhere else.

I have the same issue and I'm on a ThinkPad 10.  'Sleep' does show up in power options accessed from the charms bar.

I'm thinking this is somehow related to a change made all the way back in v1.11, from change log:

Modified shutdown menu to prevent surplus separator line showing when the machine doesn't support sleep or hibernate.
