[LH 1.6] Quest "The Dragongate" Bug

Won´t let me use the two Dragoneyes

I collected both eyes before finding the 3 and final statue. So when i now try to use the 2 eyes i am only able to: Not submit or something along those lines and attack or to return later.

 

When i attack 3 dragons spawn and own me and when i click on return later the statue disappeard and i get the message every new turn to return later or attack.

 

While this is obviouly bugged i like to know if there is some kind of workaround like spawning me the reward via console.

I tested losing to the dragons and coming back and beating them. No problems. I didnt see a message every turn and when i went back and beat them it successfully concluded the quest (man are those dragons hard).

Do i have to kill the dragons no matter what?

 

I thought with the two dragon eyes i dont have to.

Yes, you have to fight the dragons. You can't even spawn them without the eyes.

The only real difficult battle in the whole game, no matter with which units (except dragons of course) you enter it. The only one where I found it impossible to prevent a unit loss.
