Work

After seeing threads about where people live, what they look like, what music they listen to, I'm curious to know what people around here do for a living.

Ok, this is weird, now it is reliably displaying on the two most recent posts. (viewing through WC Browser)

I'm not working now but I want to be. I used to work in ICUs where people were tied to machines. Then I worked in the ER where I tied people down(sometimes) and evaluated their mental status. Then I worked in L&D and helped catch new babies. I want to work with computers now. I was always too squeemish for blood and guts.

actually, I ended up evaluating the regular staff (nurses and doctors) and working out ways to convince them that I was right when I untied them. I usually had everyone out of restraints within an hour after I got to work, and I rarely had to tie anyone. It bugged people that I could do that. If people would only listen to each other now and then..... That's why I want computer work.

GM - "That's why I want computer work" . My wife left nursing after 20 years and went to work for a medical research consulting firm analyzing records of patients sueing doctors and pharmaceutical companies to render an opinion on the validity of the patient's claim. She says it's only moderately interesting, but it more than doubled her annual salary. Just a thought.
