Out of interest why are you declining the update?

However it should not be prompting as often, it is supposed to be once a week!  I will make sure to get it checked as there may be a bug.  If so of course you will need to update when we put out a fix...

You can stop the update checker by going to the about box in WindowBlinds and unticking the check for updates option.  I don't think you need to reboot.

Could a  Remind me about this update in XX  Minutes  option be added to the check for updates routine? Not a bad idea for ODM as well.

                                                                      XX  Days

                                                                XX   Weeks

                                                                         Never

But In the case of WindowBlinds, I agree, there doesn't seem to be any logic behind skipping or ignoring an update. They have all had a purpose.

Format lacks a bit, but I hope you get my drift,

i believe that you might be right that it only checks for an update once a week, but when it finds it it notifies me every hour or so...

and i have legitimate reasons for declining it regardless of someone not thinking it is logical, it is quite logical in my case

thanks

Did you do what Neil said and then reboot? It should stop checking for updates.  8|

What version of Windowblinds are you running? Could you please post your About Windowblinds information here, thanks.

It isn't only happening to him either. The exact same thing happened to me (Windows 7) a few days ago until I relented and upgraded.

Tests here are not showing any issues at all with the update checker in 8.05 even when tricked into thinking there is an update.  Checks are performed once per week unless the option is disabled in the about box.

I believe there was a bug in earlier (before Nov 2013) builds and I am afraid the solution is to upgrade the build to have a fixed version.  Unless you have an expired ObjectDesktop subscription this is a no cost thing.  Just download the new installer from the My Downloads section of the store.

This has not shown up before because I don't think we had set the version on the servers to prompt for an update in the past.

Hate to revive this thread a year later but I'm having exactly this problem and it is infuriating.  In fact, notifications are one thing, but it routinely minimizes games on me too (yep, even Sins of a Solar Empire).  The best part is I have even accepted, downloaded, and installed the update.  Then restarted.  Still doing it.

This is tremendously frustrating.  I just tried disabling the update checker and I will report back if it continues but this is obviously still an issue.

If it continues to happen then your update was not applied correctly.

Uninstall, reboot and reinstall.
