Editing starting Credits/Metal/Crystal

I'm trying to figure out why this isn't working for me.  I've done it in the past, and it worked fine, but I've been away from the game for while and now I can't edit my starting credits etc.  I'm running Trinity v1.37 and no matter which map I edit or what values I input, my starting resources are always 3000/800/250.  Can anybody point me in the right direction?

What are you using to edit, other than planet placement, I use notepad++

Are you editing stock maps in the install dir, or custom in Galaxy Forge folder? Or mod maps?

Try copying a map from Trinity install dir to mods Galaxy Forge, maybe rename the file. Edit with notepad and load map from the Galaxy tab, Not small medium or large map tabs

I've tried using both notepad and notepad++, as well as editing stock maps and custom in the Galaxy Forge folder.  Nothing is working for me.  I have a feeling that I'm forgetting some really small detail I need to do in order to make this work, but I can't figure it out.  The only thing I need to change is

startingCredits 3000
startingMetal 800
startingCrystal 250

and I just input the values I want, correct?

Are you editting a random map or premade map? If premade, note that you need to change all players since most of them have "RandomizedPositions" set to true.
