Microsoft VC redist package

Every time I try to play/install GC3 I get the screen installing Microsoft VC redist package. I can't get past it. It just sends me into a seemingly endless attempt to dl the file (doesn't lock computer). I even installed a newer version of it from Microsoft's webpage and steam still does the same thing, an endless attempt to dl the Microsoft VC redist package. Anyone had this problem and know how to get around it? Would love to be able to use my alpha access...
