Update on RedneckDude

Folks I need to give you a very important message/update on Jim (RedneckDude).  He went to the hospital last night with very low blood pressure and very high heartrate (156).  At first it was thought he as having a heart attack but it looks like what is going on is heart is out of rhythm.  I'm sure there is a medical term for that.

Jim, being such a good community member wanted you folks to know that you will not be uploading his skins for the community project today or for awhile.  I passed on to him that there was no big hurry.  He will remain in the hospital for a few days while they run some tests.

Jim does have a FB page so please pay a visit and let him know you are thinking about him.  https://www.facebook.com/RedneckDude2

Thanks

I spoke with Jim over the phone this morning and he was in good spirits. He just wanted to let everyone know he may be out of touch for a day or two. He has his phone with him but no laptop or tablet. They'll be running tests to see what's up. Keep Jim and Lisa in your thoughts and prayers, please.

Well, fortunately, they were able to "jump start" me back into rhythm.

I have Atrial Flutter.

Lisa's hospital ER gave me some fluid, thinking I might be dehydrated. When that didn't work, they gave me some Adenosine. Tried to stop my heart, then have it restart in rhythm.....it didn't stop.

The heart rate dropped to around 120, but came right back up to 170.

So, they shipped me out to a different hospital a few towns over.

So, they gave me some Cardizem which dropped the heart rate to 79, then they started a Cardizem drip. And some Heparin too.

This morning, they did a transesophageal echo to check for clots, found none, so they did a cardioversion and converted me into rhythm.

In a month, they'll do a cath on me and go in and "kill" the offending part of my heart, to permanently fix the problem.

Seems I have an electrical problem.

After some begging, they cut my visit a day short, considering I live with an ICU nurse. So, I am home.

Gonna be doing Metoprolol and Xarelto.

Was a scare for us, sorry if I scared yall.

My mom had an electrical problem for years and it was always diagnosed as something else. In July 2012, she had a part of her heart zapped, and it has been normal ever since. She will be 87 this May.

Glad you are home Jim!!  <3

Festus Haggen: Shouldn't 'mount t'much; fifty cents'll do... Soakin' in the crik a few hours'll swell them spokes back tight as pin feathers on a prairie chicken's rump.
Dr. Galen 'Doc' Adams: Soakin' in the crik?
Festus Haggen: Sure.
Dr. Galen 'Doc' Adams: And while you're sitting there, letting the wheels soak, I suppose you'll do a little fishing?
Festus Haggen: Now that you mention it...
Dr. Galen 'Doc' Adams: So I end up paying you fifty cents to fish.
Festus Haggen: Well, Doc, I'm gonna have t'dig me some worms, catch me some grasshoppers. That's tirin'. If it wasn't for them wheels needin' soakin', I wouldn't have to....

Dear oh dear, Jim, that's no good at all.  Here's hoping they get to the bottom of it and you make a full recovery.

In the meantime, take it easy and relax some... everything will still be here/there when you're feeling up to it. :sun:
