Sleep and Hibernate

I was wondering if it is possible to remove the Sleep and Hibernate option from the Shut down menu? If not, possible option in the future? Those options have been disabled in Windows 8 and don't show there, but they do in Start8.

Sleep and hibernate get disabled based on what the OS reports for support.

What method have you used to disable them in Windows 8?

I turned off sleep and hibernate in the power options of windows 8. Windows 8 gives me lock and sign out and Start8 gives those plus sleep and hibernate.

Which settings in particular?  If you just set the times to never then that's not turning it off to Start8.  Both options remain functional as the OS continues to expose support for them.

Would I be right in saying if you pick either from Start8 then they actually work?

A quick check here on a Windows 7 box shows if the OS has been told in power settings to Sleep = Never then Sleep remains an option on the start menu.

If you know what I have to do to stop it from showing those options on Start8, then please tell me.

I unchecked Sleep and Hibernate in the Shutdown Settings on Windows 8. When I did that the Sleep and Hibernate option was no longer available when I right click the Start button and go the the Shut down or sign out option. The Sleep and Hibernate option was also gone when I click my user pick on the Metro page. The Sleep and Hibernate option IS still showing on the Start8 Shudown button. When I click on Sleep using the Start8 option it DOES go to sleep. I didn't try Hibernate, but sure that would work too.

I would like those options to NOT show in Start8 (if possible) like they don't show in the Windows 8 shutdown options so that other users do not select them.

I guess this is not possible or no one knows how to do it?

Looks like it was not added in this new version. Maybe in the future. I could just use the new Metro power button. That only shows shut down and restart.
