Thinkpad Yoga Tablet mode

Hi All,

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga and i was hoping to have two separate functions for the start menu/buttons depending on if i am completely flipped over into tablet mode or just in normal laptop mode however everything seems to default to tablet mode :(

Anyone have any suggestions?

It depends on if Lenovo implemented support for telling the OS which state it is in.

Start8 has options for docked and tablet mode, but they require the Intel drivers to be installed.  If they are not installed then Start8 is unable to detect which mode you are in.  The settings are on the Control page in the drop down boxes for "What should happen when you are on the desktop etc".

Thanks Neil, how do i know if the drivers installed? What are they called?

I know that the touchpad is disabled when the laptop is flipped so i would assume there is at least some kind of sensor in the device?

I believe this is what you need :

  1. Slate / clamshell mode indicator device driver (Compatible ID PNP0C60.)
  2. Docking mode indicator device driver (Compatible ID PNP0C70.)
  3. Go to Device Manager -> Human Interface Devices -> GPIO Buttons Driver -> Details -> Compatible Ids. If you find PNP0C60, that’s the driver. Without this driver, slate mode detection doesn’t work.
  4. For classical docking mode detection, you need this driver.

Hi,

for me it's also not working consitently.  Can we have in indicator which is at least telling which mode is detected? And if the Driver was found.
