[1.5 BUG] Wildland Won't Clear if Boss is Killed Outside of Wildland

I've seen this happen once, I suspect this is a general bug but haven't played enough to be sure.

In my last full game, Vetrar (sp?) went pretty far outside of his wildland and stayed outside. I killed him outside, and cleared everything in the wildland but the wildland never cleared. I did get the items (fist of Vetrar? Sword of the Glacier - or something like that).

Now I'm playing another long game on a huge map, and I see Delin wandering far outside of his wildland. I'm hoping he wanders back in, but based on past experience that's not a good bet.

Has anyone else seen this bug? Is there a workaround? I'm wondering if there's something that triggers the wandering (like maybe if Delin spotted my scout and that's what triggered his wandering - if that's the case, maybe I could have scouts steer clear of wildlands until I'm ready to kill). Or I'm wondering if it's possible to lure Delin back in?

Or maybe the wandering of bosses is common, but whatever happened w/ Vetrar was the anomaly?  (sounds to good to be true)

Boy, I'm sure wishing I could go back to 1.4, 1.5 has seriously made this a worse game.

Thanks, Primal_Savage - that's a huge help!

I just might try to kite him back, got a fun game going and would mess it up if I couldn't clear this wildland properly.

Well, I lured him 1 square into his wildland, for just 1 turn, and killing him did not clear the wildland :(

Is there some more specific requirement, like he needs to be in for more than a turn? Or farther in? Or does he need to be specifically on home square (the one he starts in)?

In my current game I noticed a (3) stack of foreign troops along my border.  I had a trade agreement but not a non-aggression pact so I sent my troops to investigate.  The foreign troop stack stood still next to a wildly out of place monster stack with a teal cloth map icon base.  There was no wild land even remotely nearby so I thought perhaps the monster stack had been following the foreign troop stack.

Anyway I made a non-aggression pact with that kingdom and used my troops to wipe out the single monster stack and ended my turn.  At the beginning of the next turn an Ashwake Dragon & two Ignys attacked me.  I was unprepared to fight a dragon so I used an escape scroll to leave combat.  That's when Delin, the Pyre of Man and a hoard of fire elementals attacked me.

I was unable to defeat this mega boss so I re-loaded and tried to figure this strange event out.  I was unable to see Delin or the dragon anywhere in the whole region.  They don't appear on the map at all but I can see the faint edge of the burning lands a vast distance away from my territory.  If I end my turn without any troops near this strange event, Delin & the dragon never appear.  However when I end my turn with troops near this event, the hoards of the fireland teleport to this particular square every time.

I think its a fun challenge when wildlands leak the occasional monster stack.  It makes building towns nearby one of these areas challenging and helps direct your development.  I think most players near a wildland eventually conquer it and build cities there.  However I dont think boss units should ever leave their respective wildlands.  Also I must totally protest invisible/teleporting wildland armies...which I assume is a bug.
