I did the Pro version once before and it worked as advertised. I got the free version now so yeah....I'm grabbing it up. You should do the same if ya like it.
A heads up folks. I downloaded ASC from the GOTD site. Twice after clicking on the setup.exe it told me the file had been corrupted. ASC itself does not seem to be in the zip. Instead it was the Software Informer's .exe. A readme is attached to the download. In it is the registration code, its valid. What I did was go to IObit and dl the free version then upgraded it to the Pro using the registration number. It worked. I don't know what happened but at least this was a good work around. I think GOTD may have gotten it wrong.
Killer post Ross !
I've been using ASC for several years now. Good software. The Pro version has a lot of advantages over the free version, so it is well worth picking up. Of course, with any software of this type, it is always wise to make a restore point/backup before allowing it to make any changes.
Good catch, Ross.
My only gripe with GAOTD is that you can't reinstall later, if you need to.
But I have gotten some good programs there.
I wish they would be more like Bits Du Jour, they give you software that you can install at will.

This was taken from the link you gave "Unzip the package you've downloaded, and carefully read the instructions which you can find in the readme.txt file. This readme.txt file is included with all our downloads. Follow the instructions carefully to install and activate the software."
I recently purchased 3 licenses Advanced System Care Pro for 20 bucks and couldn't be happier with the product. It performs the task of keeping our PCs in tip top condition very well and has additional tools to fine-tune things even more. I also love the uninstaller that comes with it... removes unwanted/unneeded programs far more efficiently than the Windows offering and leaves nothing behind with the deep clean process at the end.
Something I got for free with my purchase of Nero 2014 is System Utilities 2014, and I am especially pleased with it, also. However, not needing them both on the same system, I removed ASC Pro and put it on my spare rig instead.
Both programs perform their tasks very well and I highly recommend them.
Did that but on the second try, using I-zarc, I clicked on the zip and all it shows is the .gcd file, the readme and the setup.exe. The setup installed the Software Informer, not ASC! Afterwards I checked and there was no install. That's why I went directly to IObit's site.
