[CRASH] LH Crashes At Startup

Hey folks. I played LH a lot about half a year ago and decided to dust it off and try it out again, but now I can't get the game to start. It always crashes.

Essentially when I start the game it goes to the splash screen with the monsters surrounding an archer and a crossbow. My cursor will change into the sword as it should, and then the game hangs and crashes, never moving any further forward. Sometimes the full splash screen loads and it hangs. Other times all but the last inch of the bottom of the splash screen loads and then the game crashes, ultimately prompting me to the "wait for the game to respond" or "close the program" box via windows. 

 

Some backstory about this. The game is through Steam. I installed all my latest graphics drivers. I verified the files through Steam and it found one file and fixed it. Game still crashed. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled. Still crashed. The game is updated to the highest version. The only DLC I have is the Undead DLC, which I actually got today and spurred me to play the game again.

It looks like you've got some corrupted screens. They get cached in C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - Legendary Heroes so even if you redownloaded them in Steam there may still be a bad copy in there. If you delete the Screens folder in that location the game should rebuild and recache them.

Failing that, please email support@stardock.com and they should be able to help look into other possible causes.

That worked! Thank you so much. Now it brought me up to the registration confirmation, but that was no problem.
