Start8 doesn't work after installing Modern mix

I noticed Start8 quit working soon after installing Modern Mix. Start8 no longer controls the Start Button icon. Clicking the button launches Apps view, which is my default.

My only fix is to uninstall  both Start8 and Modern Mix, and then reinstall Start8. I am using the latest versions of each, under Windows 8.1 Pro on a MacBookPro and Parallels Desktop 9. Obiviously I'd like to run both product. For the moment, I am only running Start8.

If you are using Parallels you must enable the Windows 7 mode in the Parallels menus or it will disable Start8.

That did the trick! It works okay without Windows 7 mode when only running Start8. But I just started using Modern Mix, and that is when the bug appeared.

It looks like Parallels provides Start8 and Modern Mix for free. I had been using both before on real Windows machines, so the Windows 7 mode through me for a loop.
