No transparency for Windows 8 Metro

So I recently bought WindowBlinds in the hope that I would be finally able to get transparency back into Windows 8, just like in Vista and 7, but I can't find the option to do so. It's supposed to be in the "color" tab which isn't there:

The other themes have the color tab so I can use transparency but I want to have transparency with the default Metro theme. How do I fix this?

As I recalled correctly,Win 8 doesn't support transparent, hence Windowblinds. However, the prime programmer is planning to bring that back in the next Windowblinds build.

Yes, hence why I am using WindowBlinds. But Windows 8 has been out for over a year now I thought they would have already brought back transparency in WindowBlinds?

I see you have chosen the Default Aero by Microsoft in your screenshot. That is why color tab isn't available. Choose another skin.

Applying the MS default skin turns off Windowblinds.

Windows 8 supports transparency. It does not support blur.  ;)

Windows 8.1 with transparency, via Windowblinds.

If that is the case, is there a skin available with transparency that looks exactly like Microsoft's metro? But with transparency?

If you mean the metro start page, no.

There is a Win8 Metro skin that comes with Windowblinds to which you can add transparency via WB config, as well as a skin called Win8, which does have transparency.

No not the start page but the overall Windows theme

Basically I mean like this program here: http://glass8.berlios.de/

But without having to deal with buggy software.

The skin "Win8 Metro" looks nothing like the default Windows 8 skin, and I don't like the look of the taskbar with the Win8 skin.

Then you have to search for third party skinners for it. Windowblinds doesn't really patch the .dll that MS provided. It got its own script/engine to implement/paint images, therefore there is no native hack on system which is a very safe and non-intrusive prog compared with other unauthorized crack.

Does Windowblinds let you convert msstyles to Windowblinds format? Perhaps do you think I could rip the Microsoft one and add my own transparency to it?

1. Not through Windowblinds, but Skinstudio. Skinstudio is a program (also made by Stardock ) that making a Windowblinds skins.

2.Most likely,that is the case.

So how do I convert msstyles to Windowblinds? I Can't find the option anywhere in Skinstudio

SkinStudio only imports older Windows XP .msstyles, it does not import Windows 7 or 8 .msstyles.

I have a small utility for that, but I don't think it works with Windows8. It's called MSImport and I just tried it on the Windows 8 default MSStyle. Doesn't work.
