Windows 8/8.1, WindowBlinds and Google Chrome

Hello!

First, thank you for an outstanding product. I am extremely pleased with it.

I have an peculiar issue with WindowBlinds and Google Chrome on Windows 8. Hoped you could help.

I am running WindowBlinds version 8.01 and the latest version of Google Chrome. When the Google Chrome window is maximized and in focus, and the Show Desktop button is clicked, the Chrome window would freeze for a very brief moment, then what appears to be a stretched, double-gray colored window title bar (a screenshot is attached) appears. Then, after about a second, the desktop would be shown normally. This does not happen all the time, but pretty much sporadically (roughly 20% of the time). Reverting to the default Windows 8 skin rectifies the issue completely. Yet, when the Win8 skin is selected, the problem would sometimes randomly recur.

I am attaching a screenshot, to illustrate the issue.

I am using two monitors running at 2560x1440 each, if that matters. I am also running Start8 version 1.30.

Is this known? Is there a way to correct this?

Thanks!

(The above would be displayed for about a second after having clicked on Show Desktop, after which the desktop would be shown normally.)

Just a quick update: upgraded to Windows 8.1, and the issue persists (thread title has been modified accordingly).

Hi PavelP

Have you started or created and written a report of this to Stardock support by a support ticket?  this is a public forum, and is replied too generally by the public (customers) but is looked at by Stardock personal at times.

Cheers

Hi,

Thanks for replying. I have not. Perhaps I should. :)

Thanks for the hint. :)

PavelP ...the correct course of action is to email support@stardock.com and open a ticket for support staff to respond.

Once you have contacted them please wait until you have a direct response beyond the auto-confirm reply.

If you send a second email you are relocated to the end of the queue - it's a system that prevents duplication of responses...;)

Hi Jafo!

Apologies for not following the correct procedure for reporting issues. I will open tickets from now on.

Thanks!

If you have a Chrome Theme installed, it will override Windows Blinds settings.  There may be conflict... To restore Chrome without a theme, it's easiest to install this theme which basically returns Chrome to unthemed.  Hope this helps.
