Windows 8.1 Start Button Not Responding

very slow to respond, sometimes 20-30 secs

I have been having issues with the start button in windows 8.1 not responding to my mouse clicks. It does respond, but extremely slow, sometimes it takes several clicks and a wait of 30 - 60 seconds for the start screen(modern) to show up. The Start 8 menu seems to work from the Windows key on the keyboard sometimes, but not always either. I do have Start 8 installed and activated. version 1.30.1 is installed.  I installed Start 8 last evening on a fresh install of windows 8.1.  Is this a Microsoft issue or a Stardock issue?  Is anyone else having the same problems?

To me sounds like a resource problem. Basically something is eating up your RAM unless you have over 1 GB of RAM on your PC.

Got the same setup only for two difference, 2000Mhz DDR3 and Radeon HD 6850. Check your board make sure you have updated BIOS firmware and check if you can disable 4 of the 8 core. I notice a better improvement when going into a quad core system.
