latest windows xp updates force reinstall of msn/windows messenger

Anybody else notice this? I can't remove it from any of the previous methods either

Anybody know how to get rid of it not using the sysoc.inf edit methord or RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection c:\windows\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove? It won't go away

Well, you could always uninstall your most recent update. That should allow you to uninstall Messenger as well.

if your running xp you could try doing system restore
