Start8 + right click functionality in Office 2010

Hi All, I have noticed an issue with the "right click" functionality in office 2010 applications, since updating to Windows 8.1. If you right click, the menu appears for a second or so and then disappears. After some trouble shooting - it looks like this is related to Start8, as if you stop (using Start8 UNLOAD) and then restart, the correct right click functions are restored. It is somewhat intermittent - anyone else seeing this ?

Running Start8 Ver. 1.3 and Windows 8.1 x64

I would be surprised if this had anything to do with Start8 as Start8 doesn't have any code to cancel other apps menus and it doesn't have a mouse hook to mess with that either.

I will ask QA to double check though.

Did you need the reboot after start8 UNLOAD?  I ask because Start8 unload unloads Start8 for that current session only.  On next reboot Start8 will be running again so you seem to be unloading Start8 and then rebooting which puts Start8 back running again in which case that's no different to just rebooting.

Thanks for the response, I too am surprised that there is a relationship - but the evidence is that when the "right click" stops working, I simply run a batch file which unloads and then restarts Start8 which rectifies the issue. However an office repair also solves the problem ! Just to be clear, no reboot is required, just unload and then load again straight away, a reboot would also work- but takes longer.

I will endeavor to reproduce the effect.

Thanks,

Nigel.

That is weird.

Does a close of Office and a reopen also fix it?

Also when it happens does the same thing happen if you say open notepad and right click in that?

I am glad to hear it.  I had asked QA to try to repro and they were unable to.
