Color Bug

Hello,

I noticed a bug with Decor8 version 1.06 The background color and accent color revert to pitch black when every time i reboot or change from landscape to portrait. I assume this is a bug in 8.1 because decor8 is setting the color and 8.1 has the ability built in now. Is there a way to fix this manually or will you be patching it soon? or will you be removing the color setting ability from decor8 since its redundant at this point with 8.1?

The next update should resolve this.  Decor8 still has the options to change the colours because we offer a little more control than the OS UI does and there is also the option to create a suitable colour scheme from your background.

The issue you are having should only happen if you have no Decor8 background set.  Then Decor8 calculates the colours it wants and sets them which end up being black as there is no image to work on.

I was having the same issue as described by Forzano. Even having a Decor8 background set, it would give me a black accent color or color scheme. I hope the new update comes out soon.

Hey Neil,

Thanks for the reply. Great to hear this will be resolved with the next update. Interesting about the colors being calculated based on the background. Thats a cool feature but like Alxgto436, I'm using a custom BG and I'm still encountering the issue. To be fair, it is a rainbow colored theme, so it may just be confused which color to pick. Here's what it looks like

I'm having the same problem. My tiles in the metro start screen are all the default MS skittles colors after the 8.1 upgrade, regardless of what's set or selected in Decor8. The function where Decor8 would choose a unified color scheme for the tiles based on the selected background was working perfectly in Win 8, but something in Win 8.1 seems to have broken that feature. The Decor8-determined color scheme only applies to the start icon in the pop-up sidebar now, and the sidebar overlay itself is always just black.

I don't really care so much about the sidebar overlay, but I recoil in horror every time I enter the start screen now due to MS's random garish tile colors.
