App won't close when in windowed mode

Hi I've just upgraded to Windows 8.1 Pro and also updated Modern Mix to new version 1.12.

Previously I was able to configure my Logitech mouse to press a certain button on the mouse and the active opened app/program will close instantly. In the old version of Modern Mix I can close both in fullscreen mode & windowed mode.

Since updating OS & Modern Mix 1.12, I can only close the opened app when in fullscreen. If they run on windowed mode, no matter how many times I click on the assigned button on the mouse to close them, they won't close. No reaction.

Any help?

P.S. No new Logitech software available yet.

Edit: After clicking assigned button on mouse to close app, it takes about 10 seconds for it to accept the command & then close. 

This is unacceptable as the older Modern Mix version closes apps instantly.

I've tried uninstalling new version & reinstalling old version but the old version does not work with Windows 8.1 Pro. For example if I use old version & open Mail app, the app opens 3 times & they get stuck on screen. Old version is totally useless in new OS.

This problem happens only with apps using the Modern Mix software.

Normal programs/folders opened in desktop (e.g. web browser, photoshop, etc) closes normally so I don't think the problem is caused by Logitech software.

What happens if you click the X at the top left of the window?

Closes normally if you click X at the top left. But if you use keyboard shortcut Alt+F4, app will also have a 10 seconds delay in closing. Very strange behavior of Modern Mix.

I think the problem is due to an OS change rather than a ModernMix change.

I will see if we can make some changes in future updates, but for now just use the X button on the titlebar.

Regretted for updating to Windows 8.1. I should have stayed with Windows 8.  >:(
