Hi, i've been using a few stardock products, so thought it would be a good idea to download the central software to keep it all up to date...

sadly i think there are quite a few annoyances to the software

a) most installations seem to require a reboot, so when i had 4 items of software to upgrade, that involved 4 consecutive reboots.  this seems unnecessary, it would be better to be able to batch the updates, and then ask the user if they wish to reboot now or later.  - This is quite important!  there should be some warnings about this, as people could lose work.

b) the software should be able to start minimised, or even better minimised to the system tray (system tray notifications can then be used to notify the user if there are updates)

There is an application called StarDock Central or SDC. Once installed it notifies you if any updates are available. As for the reboots they are necessary so the apps will recognize the system. When you know there are updates available save any work you have prior to installing the updates. This way no work is lost.
