"The Desktop Windows Manager does not seem to be active on your machine"

Can't change my desktop background?! Only screensaver.

Hi people!

I'm getting this stupid error when I try change my background in Deskscapes:

 

No.. just no

 

Anyone know anything about this?

 

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64x

 

Every other Stardock software works fine.

What is your Windows experience score and if you press WinKey + Tab do you get the Flip3D effect?

It sounds like for some reason your machine has not have the DWM functional then hence the message.

I would try applying the Windows Classic Theme from the Control Panel Personalization screen.  Then apply Windows 7 listed under "Aero Themes".  The DWM may then be enabled.
