1.20 missing german translations under win 8.1 rtm

I can confirm this on 8.1 RTM.

I believe this happens due to the way start8 reads the strings because although these strings are not available in the provided de.lng file, they are correctly replaced to german in windows 8 but not anymore in 8.1 so start8 must read some of the strings directly from the OS and something must have changed in 8.1.

You can add some of the strings to the de.lng. These work if you do so:

"All Programs"="Alle Programme"
"Devices and Printers"="Geräte und Drucker"
"Run..."="Ausführen..."

These don't work, even if they are in the de.lng file (so they are probably read directly from the OS):

"Search programs and files"="Programme/Dateien durchsuchen"

"Pin to Start menu (Start8)"="An Startmenü anheften (Start8)"

The same happens to several shortcut names in the configuration pages, they remain in EN in 8.1 RTM.

Those last two have issues because they are not right for the English side.  They should be :

" Search programs and files"=" Programme/Dateien durchsuchen"
"Pin to Start menu"="An Startmenü anheften"

We plan to have the language files updated for the next update of Start8 before the official release of Windows 8.1.

I prepared Slovenian translation for Start8 (version 1.41). I used english language file (en.lng) as a template. When i finished translation and tested it with Start8, i found out that some text still remain in English language.

I tried to fix the problem and found out that some text (resource) in »Start8Config.exe« file could not be found in english language file »en.lng«.

If you click pulldown menu with themes, you couls see that »Rounded Windows 7« theme and description is not translated and it is also for »Shadow« theme. Also, if you choose »Custom image« and »Pick image...« there is untranslated »Image Files (*.png;*.bmp)« (near to the Open and Cancel button)

When i prepared translation i found out that also »Start8tweak.exe« could be translated. I add few more rows with text (resources) in language file and »Start8tweak.exe« is partialy translated.

All text in »About« and »Search« are translated, but not in »General« part. I couldn't find correct text (resources) to prepare translation or maybe this text couldn't be translated.

So, there are untranslated text (resources) for »Start8Config.exe« file:

"Shadow"
"Semi Transparent style start menu"
"Rounded Windows 7"
"Inspired by Windows 7"
"Image Files (*.png;*.bmp)"

And for »Start8tweak.exe« file:

Is there any other way to finish my translation? Could you include all other (un translated) resources in default language file (e.g. en.lng)?

Start8 is nice program and i try to translate it to my native language (slovenian language) to be more confortable with Slovenian Windows 8.

Maybe you have interest to send you slovenian language file (sl.lng)?
