Feedback for Start8 on Windows Server 2012

Hi

We are running Start8 on our Windows 2012 servers. I would like to report some feedback with the software.

- The 'Windows 8 Menu' shortcut on the Start8 menu does not bring up the 2012 Metro UI. When we click on it, nothing happens.

- Also, when we remote desktop into the server, the option to restart is not available (normally available on a server OS when logged in via Remote desktop)

Can I please request these features be considered into a future version of Start8?

Thanks

Greg

No showing all the shut down options is normal for remote desktop.  I would suggest a command prompt and shutdown.exe (/? for options)

For the inactive Win8 menu item, please remove it (right-click and unpin)and re-add it.

-Right click the the Start8 button
-Select "Configure Start8"
-Select the "Control" tab
-Select the "Recreate pinned shortcut to Windows 8 start menu" button at the bottom

Hi,

why do you state the missing 'restart' option is normal? For a client OS, I understand. But as Greg states, when using RDP to connect to a server running Windows 2008 R2 the restart option is available. so why doesn't Start8 mimick this behaviouron Windows 2012 too?

Frank.

I will second  that it would be nice to have this functionality in remote sessions. 2008R2 servers have it and it is a real help since 90% of the time every new hotfix role addition etc you have to reboot.
