"Disable Taskbar Translucency" Doesn't

I'm running Start8 1.16 on Windows 8 Enterprise Evaluation in a virtual machine.

First: I really, really appreciate Start8. I would not even consider Windows 8 without it.

The "Disable taskbar translucency" setting doesn't seem to work - my taskbar is still translucent. Can anything be done about this?

Have you logged out and back in (ore restarted Explorer) after enabling that option?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, I logged out and back in after enabling the option. Made no difference.

I also found out that Windows 8 does not (yet) provide the ability to remove the translucence of the taskbar. So this may be beyond Start8's ability to change. If so, the option should be removed from Stardock's UI.

The translucence of the taskbar is not that big a deal, anyway.

In windows 8.1 this also happens. Before installing start8, Opaque Taskbar for Windows 8 (http://winaero.com/comment.php?comment.news.199) was able do disable taskbar transparency but it has no effect when start8 is installed. So, please, either fix the feature or remove it completely so that other software can disable taskbar transparency.

Thanks.

There is a minor UI issue where on initial install the setting is set to disable the taskbar transparency in error.

However unticking and then reticking the box will reset the setting and it will work correctly from then on.
