Starbase Mobilization Query

Kostura Cannons, Phase Nodes, Marauders

Hmmm.

Just finished reading an old thread describing the change made to the Vasari Rebels. Given all the Herculean Research now necessary to ever make use of this capability I would simply like to confirm the following:

Vasari Rebel Starbases can no longer be moved from system to system unless you have Phase Nodes at both the origin and the destination.

Vasari Marauder Phase Nodes and the Phase Node temporarily created by a Kostura Cannon (?? thats different... didn`t know they did that) qualify as valid origin or destination Nodes.

Can a Starbase with Phase Node capability act as its own origin?

Also, can Starbases jump from Star to Star via Phase Nodes? Can anything jump from Star to Star through Phase Nodes?  ( o_O )

Finally, a note to the developers: please make appropriate fiction/menu/guide changes *in-game* as you fiddle with major aspects of play... I`ve thought this was a major Bug for the longest time.

Yes. Also there may not already be an owned starbase in the gravity well.

Yes. (In PvP, the phase node effect is the primary remaining benefit to Kostura, since non-starbase fixed fortifications are not a huge threat in the late game anyway.)
Can a Starbase with Phase Node capability act as its own origin?

Yes. In theory, it could also act as another starbase's destination if it left the well or was destroyed before the new starbase launched, because the phase node capability has a duration of several minutes whether or not the starbase is in the gravity well. However, the "no multiple starbases" rule is still glitched as far as I know, so I think this method only works if the phase node starbase is destroyed (a sb which leaves the well alive will be treated by other jumpers as still there).

No. This is not really intuitive to me, since phase nodes should be phase nodes, but my guess is that the developers realized this ability would give Vasari far too much power in multi-star maps.

I second that.

Thanks for the info, CyberCheese.

I kind of hope the Vasari Rebels might get some sort of boost (relational or Cannon-wise) now that this aspect of their operation has now been so significantly curtailed. Anyhoo...

They still have the best phase missiles and combat research, the only reason they don't get played more in PVP than Vasari Loyalists is that the Vorastra titan is a beast. It even ignored the first main nerf they tried to give it.  ;)

Yes. Really late game its not super hard to use them, but it does make it hard to spam them like they used to be in multiplayer.

lol, that is funny. this titan is such a beast it's able to ignore directives from devs.
