Explorer.exe Decor8 registry queries so frequent

I was wondering why having installed Decor8 that explorer.exe is always opening registry values for the software so frequently. Nothing else on my system is but when you check out Process Monitor for explorer.exe events, every 1/10th of a second the registry is queried for Decor8 entries.

HKCU\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Decor8\Decor8.ini\Decor8

HKCU\Software\Stardock\Decor8\Decor8.ini\Decor8\AllowAutoUpdateCheck

HKCU\Software\Stardock\Decor8\Decor8.ini\Decor8\AllowAutoUpdateCheck

HKCU\Software\Stardock\Decor8\Decor8.ini\Decor8

HKCU

and it goes on and on and on. I can understand if the service is checking for if the autoupdate value is set, but does it really need to do so often!! I have autoupdate set to off and it still is hogging my events.

Anyone else seen this? I have uninstalled Decor8 and of course it stops, but reinstallation just starts the cycle off again. Surely Stardock do not need to check to see if it can autoupdate or not so often? or even read the values from registry?

Cheers

That is certainly not intended.

The check to see if it is the right time for an update check should be being carried out once per hour, not multiple times a second.

What version of Decor8 do you have installed?

I believe we have found the issue and it should be resolved for the next update.  Thanks for reporting this.
