Star Control?

Thought it would be seen here sooner.  Sorry for an unrelated post.

Brad, or whomever:

Can you do a short explanation of the business reasons Stardock would buy the rights to Star Control.  I like reading what you write about your business in general.  Im in business, and its nice to hear from someone in a completely unrelated field than mine explain their business decisions.

Just curious.

Thanks

Oh, man!  I remember Star Control 2 fondly, and I would be glad to see Stardock do an iteration.

Awesome, SD could do something really cool with the Star Control IP. SC2 was such an innovative and memorable game, I'd love to see a modern revival that still captures what made the original so special.

In SC2, I particularly appreciated the humor written into the story.  Lots of gems in that one.  I really would be interested to hear how the Star Control franchise will be revived or integrated into future projects.  (or possibly the purchase is just to have another project option which may never develop).  Either way, I'm curious. :)

SC II was one of the great games, and a genre breaker. It combined aspects of RPG, adventure (inventory-getting), strategy, and arcade combat, with a lot of customization and some great humor. Too bad the company that acquired the rights for SC III felt they didn't want the Toys for Bob folks doing that game, and gave it instead to a team that had produced several mediocre titles.

If Stardock does an SC IV, hopefully they'll bring in the TfB folks--or at least, follow their design in spirit, if not to the letter.
