Detailed Tutorial/Walkthrough Videos to Help New Players

Hello all. Given the influx of new players to the game recently, I thought now might be a good time to share this with you all. For awhile now I've been working on a video Tutorial series for the game through my YouTube channel Tzucraft.

 

I've been playing Sins since I bought at retail, the original base game over 5 years ago and throughout the years have played probably hundreds of maps, with all the various expansions. In that time I've learned the ins and outs of the game and picked up quite a few tips and tricks, that I thought might help newer players to the game. It actually started as me just making a video for one of my friends who had gotten the game. Mainly to help him get his empire up and running and to not suck so bad when we played multiplayer together haha!

 

Anyways, I'd like to invite you all to come check it out and let me know what you think. It's turned out quite well if I do say so myself. And by all accounts, from the feedback I've gotten in the comments, people seem to like it and are finding it helpful!

Do these take into account Forbidden Worlds DLC?

 

Would you consider summarising the key ideas of the episode in the video descriptions?

The dlc hadn't come out yet when I had started doing the first few episodes so I decided to not include it just yet. Since I'd have to start the walkthrough over really. But I will be covering it soon.

Plus I don't yet know absolutely everything about the ins and outs of the dlc, the same way I do the base game. But like I said, soon I will be doing a whole ep or two covering the dlc and it's changes. And honestly it doesn't add or change all That much to the game, at least not in the way the entrenchment/diplomacy expansions did.

 

And yah, I could change up the individual video's descriptions with more detailed info about them. It's a good idea, I just havn't had the time to go through and write up one for each, since I do so many videos on different games (ATM I'm working on several Let's Plays & a Tutorial for Cube World alpha as well!). I've just been using a copy paste of a basic description covering the overall playlist the vid is in. Although a summery of the key idea covered in the vid normally is right in the name of the vids, "Captial Ships & Fleets" "Colonizing & Developing Planets" ect ;P

My thinking was an actual summary of key points rather than just a title - the videos are QUITE lengthy. As such I'm only watching a couple of them.

So after watching videos for 45 minutes, the biggest thing have I learned is that you can fool the AI into bidding against itself with pirates! I never thought that would happen - I assumed  the AI wouldn't have the reasoning power required. . The thing is that the videos are lengthy, just because of the pace of sins.

I'm learning quite a bit from watching the occasional randomly selected one though! And the change from walkthrough to tutorial is EXCELLENT.

Can you tell me why you don't target LRF first with your 1st Fleet? As far as I can see, the LRF do a lot more damage to your fleet than the cobalts. And then you have to replace them?
