New Jump List Issue with Office 2013

I have a Jump List issue I have not seen reported on here yet.  After days of using Start8, my jump lists have not been working - for Office 2013 applications.  For built-in applications I was not having an issue.  I rebooted several times.  I tried opening dozens of files of each application.

 

However, I then noticed that if I pin one of these same applications to the Start8 menu, then unpin that same application, jump lists will start to work.  I have been able to duplication this with two applications (Word and Excel).

 

I originally had Outlook pinned to the top of my Start8 menu.  I'm not sure if that is cause the problem or not.  I'll need to test if the problem still occurs if Outlook is not originally pinned.

I find this issue continues to be repeatable.  However, I also found that if I open a document (example PowerPoint document) from the Recent Items list on the Start8 Start menu, then jump lists for that application (in this case, PowerPoint) will start to work.

I re-ran my test but unpinned Outlook from the Start8 Start menu before I ran anything.  So to start, the Start menu recent apps was blank.  I then ran Word 2013 a bunch of time saving files and Excel 2013 a bunch of time saving files.  At no point did, the jump lists show.  I reconfirmed if I pinned to the start menu or opened a file from the Recent Items list (and then saved it), jump lists start to appear.

 

However, I also noticed another unexpected and unwanted behavior I didn't mention below.  If I open Office 2013 files from the Recent Items list, the file names show up on the recent apps list. 

 

The version of Start8 I'm testing with is 1.16 - Corporate Edition
