Stardock Central keeps showing an update for Decor8 1.05 Beta when it is already installed

Version 1.05 installed so why am I being prompted to keep installing the same update?

I was prompted to install two updates by Stardock Central yesterday, one for WinFX 5.11 Beta and another for Decor8 1.05 Beta. I did them one after the other but despite WinFX installing OK, Decor8 1.05 Beta keeps showing in Stardock Central. No matter how many times I install it and how many times I reboot it keeps showing when version 1.05 is already installed.

Why? Is this a bug because I had no problems installing the recent Start8 Beta or WinFX Beta?

I'm using a clean install of Windows 8 Pro 64-bit on a newly built i7-4770K PC from two weeks ago.

If I run Check for Updates from Decor8's About menu it tells me there are no updates. It shows as version 1.05.

You're not alone. I've had the same notice several days in a row. Stardock Central apparently has a bug in the database.

It's actually the registry key being out of sync from the installer. Let it update again and it should stop yelling (I've put a new installer up with 1.05 for the regkey, no code changes).

I was puzzled as to why Stardock Central shows my installed version of Decor8 as being 1.02 when Decore8's About shows it is 1.05. I'll update again (for the last time hopefully) later and report back here if it finally works.

Incidentally, it is possible to just edit the registry rather than have to download and reinstall again?

Change to Version=1.05 at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Stardock\Misc\Decor8.

I just redownloaded Decor8 v1.05 beta again through Stardock Central and although the file appeared to be identical to the others, this time it installed and I'm no longer shown any outstanding updates. Stardock Central now shows Decor8 v1.05 beta installed and not v1.02 as before.

Issue solved then. :)

I've redownloaded this several times ... same result ... Central - and, on occasion, a taskbar icon - are calling on me to get the update.

Same here for few days now, everyday the check for update pop's up with the "new" decor8 1.05 version, of course I tried many times but stardock central keep showing v1.02 installed instead of 1.05.

I finally looked at this thread and manually changed the registry entry and now its not showing I need to update 1.05 to 1.05.

One of the following files will resolve the issue (depending on your OS).

Download using IE and run as admin:

http://sd.stardock.com/ken/decor8ver.reg

http://sd.stardock.com/ken/decor8ver64.reg

 

If it doesn't resolve the issue let us know.
