No answer by "support" - anyone here?

I sent the following to support, but no answer - so can anyone here answer me?

- and yes, I'm angry. Here I purchase three software from Stardock, and left with this bloody advertisement from Stardock??????

Hi

I have purchased three products from Stardock; Start8, CursorFX and Decor8.
Basically I'm happy with the products, so yesterday I updated Start8 - and after update I'm left with a popup window every time I start the pc. This popup is for Stardock ModernMix.

If this is 'adverticement' I have not asked for, so my question is if this sale hassle about ModernMix is something intended from StarDock?

"Not intended", well then I need to know how to remove totally this popup windows about ModernMix.

On the other side, if this is a popup ad from StarDock that is intended, well then I get pissed up. I bought 3 programs from StarDock, and it's an INSULT then to put ads on my pc - so again, how to remove it ASAP?

Please answer me instantly, I'm so angry at StarDock now that I'm on the border to remove all three programs from StarDock and send out warnings about StarDock policies - but I wait a few hours to give you the possibility to explain me why I have a fu..... commercial from StarDock on my pc!

It sounds like you told the Start8 installer to install ModernMix during the installation.

During install of builds not from the my downloads section of the store (which should not show other options), the installer asks you if you would like to try another Stardock product.  If you say yes to this then that product is installed and it sounds like that is what happened here.  I imagine you clicked through the installer really quickly?

To remove it is simple, just go to the same place you would usually uninstall programs from (Control Panel - > Programs and Features) and uninstall Stardock ModernMix.

The reason it is prompting each time you boot is because you did not start the trial of ModernMix so when it automatically starts up when your machine does it detects this and so prompts the user.  This is exactly the same as how Start8 works when first installed.  This is not an ad, it is simply the product starting up and detecting it is not in a trial and not activated.

Thanks Neil, I might have been to hasty when installing. I followed your lead, and now it's installed.

I was there when adware programs went sour, but this was a shareware program - and I got pissed of as I understood that Stardock was taking adware to a new filthly level. But your explanation was good, and I have to admit - correct. So I let my Stardock programs work, as they do work as promised (-:

Thanks again.
