active titlebar height setting

I have been using windowblinds since version 3,I think. I used to write skins but when the skin language changed to include perpixel window frames I began to get lost.

How do you set the active titlebar height or size in a uis file? Here is the problem.  When I start up my computer, the windowblinds skin I am using sets the height of the active titlebar to something like 22 pixels.  This makes the taskbar at the bottom of the screen also 22 pixels high -- apparently the two are linked somehow in windows (XP) This makes the quick launch icons/buttons in the taskbar about 16 pixels or so high, which makes them very small and hard to read on my 1920x1080 monitor.  I then go into display properties in windows and reset the height of the active titlebar from 22 to 36 pixels. This increases the size of the taskbar and then I have quicklaunch buttons/icons that are 32 x32 pixels and are easy to see.

If I could edit the uis file not to set the active titlebar height to 22 pixels but instead, to set the height to 36 pixels, then I wouldn't have to reset windows display properties every time I boot up.  There must be some way to do that, since windowblinds is obviously resetting the height of the active titlebar to 22 pixels with the skin that I am using.

Obviously a method that creates a taskbar of 36 pixels high while leaving the quicklaunch  buttons/icons small is pointless. The only point of a taller taskbar is to have bigger icons and buttons on it.  I would like to know how to set the active titlebar height (or inactive titlebar height, it doesn't matter.)

I have tried the various iterations of SkinStudio and have never been able to figure out what is going on in that program.  When I used to make skins, I would just edit the uis file by hand and work it out.

Hi nazcalito,

You can easily change the settings you want to in these location with SkinStudio.

• Caption height (this will affect per-pixel and old UIS2 frames):

• Taskbar height (the taskbar buttons text margins will controls the taskbar height

because they reserve area for the text, so the bigger you make the top and bottom

values, taller the taskbar will get. To make the taskbar use the height of the taskbar

original graphic, just set top: 1 and Bottom: 1):
