Has anyone used crossbows much? How hard is it to line up your shots to take advantage of their unique ability?
The ability can be useful but it's circumstantial. In my opinion, the most significant advantage of crossbows (even to an archers faction) over bows is that they are one-handed, meaning you can use shields with them and create ranged units as tough as your frontline ones.
You can combine this shield toghtness with the racial "Guarded Strike" ability from the Ironeers. That way you get the full defensive bonus from your shield while still dealing damage.
Other than that... Nothing special about them. I've never build them.
Had no idea they were one-handed, funny. Mounted x-bowmen might be neat as additional movement would allow them to line up shots more easily. But yeah, they don't seem that great.
Lightening Form works like crossbow and it is rarely usable. Crossbows are under powered.
How does one get lightening form? I've seen a few champions start with it (like the stalker cat) but have never been able to find it or unlock in on my main no matter what class combo I try
