So I'm guessing Windows 8.1 will not bring the start button back by itself? I'm not sure why Microsoft is bringing out this new revision. I thought maybe they were going to bring it back by making it an option. Do you know if this is true?

P.S. FWIW, I never got an email notice that there was a reply to my question. I just logged in to see if there were any.

Windows 8.1 is just bringing at start button that takes you to the modern start screen.

Start8 is still the best to have a full start menu experience.

windows 8.1 start button - YES.

windows 8.1 start menu - NO.

AWESOME really really good news ,I have been following what win 8.1 is doing and saw just a start button and no menu .

AWESOME, its good they are being back the SB but no Menu, like so many like me want, made me come here , look and hope..

Will we have to deselect "Automatically go to the Desktop when I sign in" and use Windows 8.1 boot to desktop setting?
