WindowsBlinds 8

7.95 version Beta

Hello;

Just downloaded and installed the beta 7.95 version. Would I need to buy a new license

for this. If so, I think that is very wrong since I got the license for WindowBlind 7 without

thinking about how it would work with Windows 8. And boy, was I wrong. Did not work.

So did I waste my money. If after 30 day trial, and I have to get a new license, I will

un-install the program and forget about it.

Dude, if you were able to download it from your account and install, did it ask for a serial? If so, did you put yours in, and did it accept it and run?

Do you have a current Object Desktop subscription?

If the answers to the above are all yes, then, it's not a trial. If the answer is no, then the answer to your question would be yes.

I think I am correct, but wait until you hear from support directly.

You could email support@stardock.com

Anyone who purchased after March 1st of this year will receive a free upgrade, otherwise an upgrade purchase would be required.

o_O You aren't alone, there was a lot of failure to read and/or think involving the new WB version by more than a few people. That was not Stardock's fault.

If you have no plans to purchase WB8 after the trial, why even bother, "Enjoy" Windows 8 as-is. ;)

And btw, the program is WindowBlinds, not WindowsBlinds.

Either way, I think it is pretty stinky that I bought the license November 2, 2012 and it didn't

work with Windows 8 and Stardock did not have anything on there website saying it would

not work with Windows 8 when I bought the license. I might get it after the trial or I might

not, but I should get a refund then, since the license I got will not work with WindowBlinds 8

anyway.

To be fair the site did not say it worked with Windows 8 either.  The system requirements were listed on the page.

If you own WB 7 then you do get a discount on the upgrade.
