Hard time connecting to WC

Since this morning I'm being told WC is untrusted

This is embarrassing. I can't seem to connect to the WC at all. First its 'problem loading page' After several attempts that's what I get. Now if I click on thr site in my speed dial it comes up untrusted site and also it says if it is a site I normally go to someone might be impersonating it. Then a notice that says get me outta here! Wassup?!?

Okay.........its a Firefox thing. I can connect with no problem using chrome. New version of FF seems to be buggy.

It's still running that is a big plus for Ross.

FF updated a few days ago to version 25. This is the first time I ever had a problem with it.

Are you sure Ross? I just checked and the latest version is 21. Or are you using beta updates? o_O

You're right Tom. I caught it just yesterday. It is version 21. I must have said 25 because I was thinking about the beta.

This is what I'm getting.

Oops! One too many.

Notice what it says about what site the certificate is for. I never heard of edgerunner.

everything is normal.

you are trying to connect to https://www.wincustomize.com

WC does not have a valid SSL certificate, so you get this error.

see more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_Secure

just go to http://www.wincustomize.com

current FireFox beta is v22 btw

In previous versions of FF I didn't have that problem. So why now?

because either you connected to http://www.wincustomize.com before instead of https://www.wincustomize.com

or WC did something to render their SSL certificate invalid. i doubt that though, i don't remember they ever had support for secure browsing.

i get similar messages in Internet Explorer, Chrome and Opera Next if i try to connect to https://www.wincustomize.com.

Yeah but it doesn't happen in Chrome, that's what I'm using now. I think its because https is not integrated into chrome like it is in FF.

no, it is. as i said, i get a similar message in Chrome.

i would rather suspect one of your regular malware infections changed a few phishing-related security settings on all your installed browsers and the (maybe even clean) install of the new FireFox version fixed that at least for this browser.

but the bottom line is: there is no point in trying to connect via https when WC does not support it anyways. just go to http://www.wincustomize.com

I did and FF goes automatically to the https. No matter though...went to cnet for version 20, dl'd it and it came up corrupt. I'm using Chrome until I can sort it out. Perhaps downloading version 21 again would solve it? Oh...and I did a complete scan using different apps and all came up clean.
