hey wiseoldman?

I asked about uploading images and you said to load a bmp or jpg file for the preview and a zip for the other. Im not sure whats wrong but I did just that and it still tells me ive uploaded an invalid file format, do you have any ideas? could really use them. Thanx

The preview has to be a jpeg. The wall has to be a BMP, zipped.

In your paint program. When you save it, you save it as a jpeg or bmp.

The image inside the zip file does NOT have to be a .bmp, .jpg will work just fine.

Yeah, but I think the upload instructions still say that it has to be a .bmp.

Ok, I just checked. The field descriptors are like this:
*Preview Image (.jpg only):
*Bitmap Zip:
which implies that the wall should be a bitmap instead of a .jpg or other format. Before I knew better, I converted a couple of walls from .jpg to .bmp in the past when uploading because of this.

The zip can be any format you wish...as long as it's a zip...

The preview should be a full-size [at least 1024x768] jpeg [jpg] which is a smaller file size than the corresponding bitmap [bmp].
If the zip contains a 'bitmap' it will be smaller but retain full bitmap clarity of definition.
Jpegs can suffer from 'lossy compression' so it's better to upload a bmp in the zip...

Just remember....'full-size jpeg' for the preview...
