"Clear the scarred tiles to heal this diseased land"

I'd love to... where are the tiles and how do I "clear" them?

I have just cleared out the Plagued Lands and would love to make use of the territory within. However, it is still designated as wild lands despite having slain all the denizens.

Mousing over my quest objectives I'm given the instruction to "Clear the scarred tiles to heal this diseased land" which is all well and good but I can't cast any spells in the area to "clear" the scarred tiles, I have no idea what scarred tiles even look like.

How do I clear this area and make it available for habitation?

I usually just walk a hero or hero led army onto each of the lairs/marked tiles in the wild lands (the exceptions are dycoronsyse, imperium and lost voices)

hope this helps

Correct. Sometimes in this Moria Wildland there are river tiles that are classified as scarred tiles. You must clear all lairs and loots within that land. You do not need to kill any of the monsters.

I got jobbed in my game with this wildland.  Another civ was able to enter it and settle it without ever getting ganked by any of the creatures, who instead ganked me every time I entered.  That and some other significant bugs have forced me to put this game on hold for awhile.

It may not have been a bug. There is a perk for either not getting attacked by monsters at all, or an other for less likely.

Then it's an exploit and shouldn't count toward wildlands.  It makes his empire virtually indestructible when he has this epic creature and other high level crap ganking anyone else who comes near him.  All he has to do is plant a few cities in there and he has a virtual god creature protecting him.

Kinda silly...

That perk does not work for the Wildlands.

At higher level difficulties the AI gets bonuses to be avoided by monsters. Out of curiosity what level were you playing?

All settings were "normal" I believe.
