I installed Windows 8 yesterday, closely followed by WB 7.90, I had the WB icon in the systray, but it didn't do anything at all. :(

Just installed WB7.91, and now I don't have the icon in the systray at all!! Any ideas what could be wrong?

(I also have Start8, Decor8 and ModernMix installed) B[]

UPDATE: The WB icon now shows in the systray, but still doesn't do anything.........

Do we uninstall the first beta? Or install over?

EDIT: Guess not!

I just installed over it. No issues here. Just remember to reboot.

Alright, needed to stop in and say you guys kick ass.  Was getting really frustrated with win 8 and now It's doing much better.  Windowblinds8 + Start8 + Decor8 = infinity better user experience.  Just wanted to say great job guys.

side note-  Upon installing windowblinds 8 and restarting (no other applications of yours yet installed at the time), I couldn't locate anything to open it.  I re installed a second time and refused the restart and then the activation window came up.  Just passing it on.

Might be nice to pin as things can get lost real fast in the normal posting thread. I held off on 7.8 but this one is now ready for a try. Well done.

I hope you guys can fix the issue with firefox (default theme) and with its menu bar set to off.

Not to look like an idiot here, been a Stardock supporter since WinXP...

But how do I get the beta copy?!? I have Win8 and have been waiting for this since I got this OS!! It says "Visit your Stardock account now to download the beta and you will also have free access to the final release version in the near future.". I visit my account and there is no link to buy or download the beta. Just an option to re-download the version that only works with WinXP and 7. What am I missing here?!? Have I missed out and you have already reached your maximum quota of beta supporters, or is there a link (hidden) and I'm missing it.. Help an old guy out and point me in the right direction please!!

graphicsgod, do you have an active subscription to ObjectDesktop?

If not, you'll get access later. I don't know when.

Ahh that's what I was missing... I purchased everything separately.. And have kept it that way for years. Just didn't like having an "all in one" program. So us cheap bastards, got to wait :'(..

Hmm now I'm wondering if I should pay $50 bucks just to get access to one program that I desperately need, or wait (even longer) to only pay for what I am missing (since the version of WB I have doesn't work with Win8).. Decisions decisions!!

Oh well, thanks for the reply!!

If it helps, you should be able to upgrade to Object Desktop for $34.99

I haven't seen anything regarding WB7 to WB8 pricing, don't think it's been decided.

Also, fwiw, Object Desktop isn't really an "all in one program" or a "suite", it's several individual programs.

This is true, and it's more economical to get ObjectDesktop. You save a good bit over buying seperately, plus you get the added value of getting some upgrades for free.

I unloaded the v7.90 version, installed the 7.91 version, rebooted -- and Windowblinds is running -- without any problems.

When I check my available downloads the beta showing is version 7.95 for Windowblinds 8.  Is this the correct download?  I guess I'm a bit behind in upgrading as I've been using version 7.41 of windowblinds 7.

Now we just need to fix the log-in screen, so it's just not a boring flat color. Not asking for a lot, just to be able to replace the color with an image for the background. Searched the net, but only found crazy people wanting to get rid of their Windows7 log-in for Win8 (WTF?!?). Anyone have any ideas, or will Stardock have to get involved and release another program to fix that as well?!?...
