Constant Game Crash's

I have a high end machine, I ran the scenario to its completion (near the end massive lag spikes and restarts)

 

But I finally tried to create my own nation / hero and within 30mins of playinig the game freeze's and crashes everytime i try regardless of map size.

 

 

Anyone else seeing this?
