[AI] some issues I noticed

Hi,

stumbled upon the beta on Steam - great game so far.

Here are some AI issues I noticed:

- Spiders keep webbing the same units over and over, they also web ranged units / casters

- AI players are totally helpless against ranged units, especially elemental dmg ones - they focus too much on slow melee armies that often die before reaching my units

- AI players don't seem to protect their cities, I regularly take over an entire Empire with a single decent army - possible fix would be to make it a lot harder to conquer cities in general

- AI players have never hit me with any strategic spells yet (maybe that isn't implemented yet...)

Cheers!

PS: The spears are too damn powerful!

I've been hit with the spell that increases unrest in a city by 10%.

I agree with the bit about the spiders.  That's been reported so many times.  Frogboy said he was going to fix it, but then never did.  I'm guessing that what he thought would fix it didn't work.

I agree that the AI players don't choose the best of targets.  For instance, if I've got weak high-damage melee guys next to my Sand Golem (which has low initiative and high defense), the AI will always attack the Sand Golem.  Actually, I think that might just be something with Sand Golems.

Maybe you're not playing on a high enough difficulty.  I play on Insane, and I rarely see an undefended enemy city beyond the very early game.

I've heard reports of people getting hit by strategic spells.  It's rare, but it happens.  There's a thread in here of someone reporting that the AI actually cast Freeze on them.
