Possible Bug? - Program Launch Lag

Hope this hasn't already been asked - did a quick search and did not find anything on this.

It doesn't happen all the time, but frequently enough that I've noticed it...I'll launch a program from the Start8 start menu and nothing will happen for maybe 3-4 seconds. Then suddenly the start menu will disappear and the application I clicked will launch. Anyone else experiencing this / know of a fix?

P.S. Thank you Stardock for making Windows 8 usable again. Start8 + ModernMix FTW!!

We've not gotten reports on that.

What version are you using and what anti-virus?  Is there a difference in launch times if you disable the anti-virus?

I'm using v1.16 and Windows Defender for my anti-virus. I tried disabling Defender and it's launching programs without the lag but since it doesn't always occur I'm not sure anti-virus is the problem

best thing to do is add this to the exclusion list in windows defender.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Start8

I have found that this solves all performance problems between S8 and WD.

This may apply to other AV products as well.
