Dominas

So about a year ago Dominas were pretty terrible (honestly can't remember them not being terrible).

Then there were a number of updates put in place that were supposed to fix them.

Now, with an upcoming patch, I was wondering what everyone thought of their current state?

I haven't noticed much of a difference myself, but I know I don't do MP and am therefore pre-emptively wrong :p

"Domina spam" isn't going to work nearly as well as hoshiko spam...dominas come a little too late (tier 6 vs. dem bots at tier 5) and even if they didn't, they don't have near the survivability that hoshikos do...

That being said, they are very important mid to late game when you're sending caps and titans into the fray...because the game is more focused on titans, caps, and SBs in the late game, dominas shine above hoshikos in the late game for their superior repair rate and protection against disablement...

They, like most Advent toys, give the Advent an edge over TEC in the late game, but don't do much for the Advent mid or early game...

You must not really use them then, if anything dominas changed the most in single player. As Seleuceia mentioned, their biggest problem is that the game can be over in an MP match before they can even be built. In single player the fact that dominas can actually heal stuff now without being micro managed means they're a very solid unit if you can afford to get them. Granted, as Seleuceia says they're mainly for your Caps and titan as they can't heal multiple targets at once like the Hoshiko, but considering such units are much more important for the Advent than the TEC its a good thing.

Also, having made them available for the Advent Rebels in my mod without research, I've occasionally been surprised at how good suppression can be. It might even be a bit better than demobots if you could keep your Dominas charged with antimatter, maybe if a TEC ally lends his level 6 Dunov... ;)

There was a time where me and zombie joked about just doing corvette and domina spam...that was when corvettes were absolute king though and Vasari were banned....

Keep them near your caps/titan and micro them when they start taking hull damage. Just for that they give the Advent a big lift since before they could not even do that reliably.

I generally ignore them, haven't figured out how to use the effectively yet.  For me they just take up ship slots that I could spend on heavy cruisers.

While I like desdras, you can't rely on heavy cruisers against human players. They usually build a lot of bombers late game to deal with starbases and titans, and will own heavy cruisers.

And they're only 4 fleet supply, building a couple to heal your caps is hardly a big investment once you have the research.  ;)

Well I never play against humans because never have internet.

dominas's are op.. no kidding here esp when using perseverance on titans and high level caps. They become immune during the ability casting and gain 1000 Hp if the cast finishes.

They are the late game utility cruiser of choice.. Everyone builds these things and titans love to have them around.
