Drag and drop from outlook leaves other icons selected

Icons mysteriously disappear

Hi,

When I drag and drop an attached file from outlook to the desktop, any icon that was selected on the desktop before dragging will still be selected so that that when I then drag the file (now on the desktop) to another icon, both the file and the icon will be dragged.

Is this a feature or bug?

I think this is the reason I keep losing icons.

Steps to duplicate:

1. Click on any icon in a fence

2. Click on outlook (icon on desktop not selected anymore)

3. Drag attached file from outlook to the desktop (not on a fence)

4. File dragged to the desktop is now selected as is the first icon clicked.

5. Dragging new file on the desktop will also drag the previously selected icon.

Hello, tracy6.

I have the same exact problem an a machine running Fences. Was this bug ever resolved? If so, how did it get fixed?

THanks,

doug

Hi Doug,

No, it has not been resolved that I know of. I still have the same issue (currently using version 2.12)

I just have to make sure I left-click on an open part of the desktop so that nothing is selected before I click on the file to drag it somewhere else.

There is an internal ticket to have this looked at.  We do not have a timetable for a resolution currently.
