Start8 stops working when I hover the mouse over Publisher 2013

I noticed this after i installed Office Professional 2013.

Every time i hover the mouse over Publisher 2013 in Start8 it stops responding and restart after a few minutes. Is this a bug or just an error in the program? Because i can't right click on Publisher 2013 either to remove it.

No Error pops up, it just crash and restart.

Hi Duelshotgunner.

I just tested this myself, and I cannot reproduce it.

I know it doesn't directly help your situation, but it might help the developers to sort out your particular situation.

Maybe it is a Publisher 2013 shortcut problem.

Hi all, I have a similar problem, related to WORD 2013, and I found out what the problem is (for me).

It is related to the Home Group: consider to open a file (with word, publisher and so on) that belongs to another computer of the Home Group.

Then, the file will be shown in the context menu of Word in Start8, among the Recent Files. That menu is shown hovering the mouse over Word, or Publisher, or PowerPoint, just like Duelshotgunner did.

Now, if the computer in which the file are stored is DISCONNECTED from the Home Group (shutting down it, for example), Start8 doesn't work correctly, and doesn't manage to show those files in the context menu. The program often crash, restarting Explorer, or showing only a part of that Recent Files.

I tried several times and reconnecting the original computer to the Home Group completely solved the problem.

I don't know if my problem is the same of Duelshotgunner, but for sure there are some problems related to how Start8 manages the Recent Files. In fact, if you try to remove all the Recent Files from the (e.g.) Word context menu in Start8, then the arrow on the left (which shows this menu) will not disappear, and continues to show a blank page. It doesn't happened in Windows 7. That arrow disappears only if you open and close Word again.

I hope you can reproduce the problem, because I'm noticing it from the earlier releases of Start8.

Thanks

Thanks for the report.

We have been able to reproduce something similar and are investigating a solution.
