Moving ObjectDock Free to new PC?

I have a nice collection of docklets on my old Windows XP machine, but it is heading to the bit bucket in the sky soon. I recently bought a nice new Windows 7 Pro x64 laptop to replace it, but I'm not sure how to get my old stuff over to the new machine without having to laboriously recreate them one by one.

I did see a thread about this after a quick search, but that was dealing with the location in windows 7, not XP. I'm sure there are other threads, but I didn't find them, sorry.

Using OD Free 2.0

TIA

Spoke too soon! I DID find a post about this, and gave it a shot, and I have them all now! Of course I'll have to adjust many if not most of them since they are no longer living in the plain jane "program files" folder given this is a 64 bit machine, but I can deal with that.

Sorry to bother anyone!

End of epp7t1tech's quote

That's always an issue when moving from 32 to 64 ....;)

Elaine, Could you please put up the link to the post that discusses moving between PC's. I am trying it now and cannot seem to find the post you spoke of. Thank You! Jim

The settings of ObjectDock are stored in separate files in one folder/Directory.

To back up your ObjectDock 2 settings, you can simply save the settings files:

http://sd.stardock.com/Rosco/pics/od2_save_settings.png

(C:\Users\{USERNAME}\AppData\Local\Stardock\ObjectDockPlus)

To restore your settings, just put your backed up files into that folder, and you'll be good to go.

Darn it! I hate it when people do that! Tell folks they found another post then don't post the link to it :) Oh well. I did go back and try to find it, but can't, but I think I may have actually seen it here:

https://www.wincustomize.com/article/138081

It says they live here:

C:\Program  Files\Stardock\ObjectDock\Docklets

Which I'm not entirely sure is true, I thought it was in one of the app data or local settings folders, etc, but can't remember. I'm not on the machine in question, I'll have to check it tonight and will post it tomorrow.

Apologies!
