Installation does not run

Exception Code 0xc0000005, error offset 0x000029e1

from Stardock Forums

When starting the installation executable the installations stops after a few seconds. In the eventlog an entry appears as application error, showing exception code 0xc0000005, error offset 0x000029e1. The same error appears when trying to install modernmix.

Any help available in this regard?

I see that you have registered both Start8 and ModernMix in the past (meaning you made it past the install).  Is this a new error after a reinstall?

 I just bought a new PC and this was a new install/clean install of W8 (I am not able to check with my old PC as it is already gone).
