Ascian movement

Got the Ascian cat (yay!) but it only has a 2 movement. I can see how more movement could potentially make it OP, but at the same time the fact that it moves at the same speed as spearmen seems silly. Since it's supposed to be an ancient assassin, can it at least maybe be as fast as a dog?

As a side note, got Mausolos too - VERY good job guys! I like the fact that I have some "hero" units that are unique and that I had to work for!

When I saw that 2 movement, I started looking for other twisteds where the collar could be used.  Escaped Juggernaut!

Yes, I would rather the Ascian have 4 movement, lose it's lightning teleport attack and replace it with a normal range 1 lightning attack.

Ascian does need to move faster, especially since it can't get a mount. I'm for making it have 4 movement, and it could keep the lightning teleport.

Agree, any unit that can't eventually get at least 3 movement will get parked by me.   I'll suffer the slow jug armies @ 3 moves with frenzy just because they're that awesome.   They can then get to 4 with tireless march.

Ascian COULD be an awesome unit, but I usually regulate it to the stack that just needs a hug.. hero to claim loot.

I just got Mausolos  for the first time last night too.  Cool unit.  2 moves.  Yuck.      In this game I got him early enough that I just barely started moving to mounted troops... so he'll be useful for 10-20 turns till all my stacks are mounted.

And once again the issue is that it's a given that every unit you build will be mounted, because they're strictly better than unmounted units in every respect. This is high on my list of pet peeves at the moment in LH. It really does remove choice.

I agree - which is a huge sway in favor of the player.

Subjectively I can't stand the idea of an entire turn only going 1 tile (i.e. stuck in a swamp).   I've played a single game without master scouts and doubt I will again after like 400 hrs.

I would be fine removing mounted additional movement from the game if EVERY unit had a base move of 4 - but that trivializes terrain for players that can deal with it.

With a move of 4 - you can usually end up in combat every turn or a quest or at least make significant progress towards your goal.  With a move of 2, life is painfully slow.

Unfortunately, the AI is generally limited to a move of 2 - so that's a HUGE player advantage in clearing, leveling, exploring, free loot.

I think I'll create a spell - forced march, enchantment - 30 mana, 2 maintenance, +2 moves, -20% hitpoints.  Then I can get my key units with me, but pay a price for it.   Now all I have to do is figure out how to mod a spell...

I would say he should have 6 in movement ..

That would make him faster than a wolf in combat!

Heck, then Ascian would be as fast as a warg-mounted unit with Charge! Seems a bit excessive to me.

However, being an ancient panther assassin, it wouldn't be too hard to believe...
