Rapidly Blinking Windows

Not Responding

Hello,

I recently updated Display Fusion on my PC. I also downloaded and installed Stardock Central. Stardock installed:

Decor8
DeskScapes 3
DeskScapes 8
Fences 2
IconDeveloper
IconPackager 5
Keyboard Launchpad
SkinStudio 7 Professional
SoundPackager
Theme Manager (Free)
Tiles
Tweak7
WindowBlinds 7

Now I have a vexing issue. At certain times various program windows will begin to rapidly flicker on and off. If I look at the title bar I can see Not Responding displayed there. It seems to occur whenever a program opens a drop down list. Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 and Quicken 2013 seem to be particularly susceptible to this very annoying problem. Once the blinking begins there is nothing I can do to stop it. I just have to wait.

Any idea what the culprit is?

Jim

What OS are you using? You have a mix of Windows 7 and Windows 8 programs in that list. Do NOT run Tweak7 on Win8. Theme Manager is wonky on any OS, Decor8 is Win 8 only, Keyboard Launchpad is Legacy. Also, are your graphics drivers up to date? Another thing, open WindowBlinds config and go to the About tab, copy and paste the info here. DeskScapes 8 is newer, you don't need DS3 installed along with it..

Windows 7 Ultimate 64.

Upon further investigation, I discovered that not all of the programs listed in Stardock Central as being "Installed" are actually installed. Here's a screen-shot from Windows Add-Remove programs dialog:

My video card drivers, NVIDIA Geforce 9800, are up to date.

Here's the WindowBlinds info:

Your computer has a Windows Experience Index base score of 5.9
Your Windows Graphics Experience score is 6.9

That in itself is a problem. Did you install as Admin? Try to activate is as Admin. If that fails, try uninstalling it, run CCleaner or similar to clean up the registry and reinstall as Admin and with any AV/Antimalware programs disabled. Also, does it do this on all monitors and are you running multiple graphics cards?
